I will keep this short. Technology is a powerful and amazing tool for communication, information management and education. Instead of being used as a tool, technology has become a life-style and is robbing us of connection. Does it bother you that we now have to teach young children to play and are seeing a marked deficit in their compassion for others? Does it bother you that we have to train adults on social etiquette, how to collaborate and be tolerant of other people’s opinions? Does it bother you that we have become accustomed to everything sensational and very little of substance? It is troubling me deeply. The truth is that most of what we say, read and hear every day is vacuous and contributes nothing to our quality of life. What seems to matter so much today turns out to be meaningless tomorrow. Decide what is important to you and put your energy there. Ignore the rest. Life will improve.
